Health insurance coverage is mandatory for all residents in France to ensure your healthcare costs are covered. Depending on your situation, registration with the French Social Security system may be compulsory, optional, or not possible. If you are not eligible for the French scheme, you must maintain your original insurance or take out private health insurance.
