Paris welcomes students and researchers from all around the world

Welcome to Paris!

You would like to study abroad or are about to begin your study abroad experience—an experience which will help you clarify your goals. You will be spending a few months and sometimes even a few years away from home. By coming to Paris and the Île-de-France region, you are going to have life-changing experiences. These will include experiences of separation, independence, and meeting new people… Traveling is transformative and gives us a new sense of perspective, allowing us to discover our calling or change the way we relate to the world.

Keep in mind, we are here for you: theCité internationale universitaire de Paris (regardless of whether or not your are a resident at the Cité internationale). Welcoming international students and researchers is the heart of our work. We are here alongside you to help you get settled, manage your administrative procedures, learn French, join student communities, and more generally, to thrive in your new life in France.

With the support of the City of Paris and the Île-de-France region, we put the “Welcome Desk Paris” in place at the beginning of every school year. Our “acc&ss” offices continue to welcome you throughout the year for any questions linked to your mobility that you may have. This website is also available to you all year long. Before you arrive, throughout your stay, and even after you leave, your welcome and support team are here alongside you to make sure that your stay goes as smoothly as possible.

You are not alone! The Cité internationals’s campus is open to you to meet and discuss with other French and international students and researchers, and to participate in projects and events! Every year, we host 12,000 international students and researchers of 150 different nationalities. The park is open to the public from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.! Take advantage of the many services and activities that we provide: libraries, excursive facilities (open to residents or by signing up at the PUC), language learning spaces, dining halls, a co-working space, as well as nearly 1,000 free cultural and artistic events organized by the Cité internationale’s houses.
